  2. Until today I did not know who he was. But reading about his death and life on the web he definitely seems to have been a man with rare depth, character and authenticity. I wish I had learned about him sooner.

  3. Collin was a great writer, wonderful man and a friend. I always looked forward to running into him when I came to Bangkok.
    And of course he’s one of the several Expat writers who influenced me.

    You are missed already, Collin. R.I.P.

  5. Just learned of the passing of this old friend from 1970s Montreal and Ottawa. Loved him and his family – especially his parents. When the 3 brothers were together it was maximum mayhem.
    Collin was larger than life when I knew him, and it seems he persisted in that mode right to his last days.
    My condolences to his family and diaspora of friends.
